How NOT to launch a product

"Build it and they'll come" is BS.

I learned that the hard way.

7 years ago, I made my first game.
Spent months coding it.
Polishing every pixel.

Launch day arrived. I hit publish.

And...

Nothing happened.

No downloads. No players. No fame or fortune.

Just crickets.

I thought making a great product was enough.

That the internet would magically discover my genius.

Boy, was I wrong.

Here's the truth:

Building something great is just step 1.

Getting people to care? That's the real challenge.

And it starts way before you launch.

You need to build an audience first.

People who trust you. Who'll actually show up when you have something to sell.

How?

Step 1. Create content that helps your audience. Consistently.
Step 2. Build an email list.

Why?

You own it.

No one can take those emails away from you.

No algorithm changes. No account bans.

It's direct access to people who've raised their hand and said, "Yes, I want to hear from you."

When you launch? You're not shouting into the abyss of 1000+ product launches per second.

You're talking to people who already know, like, and trust you.

That's powerful.

So yeah, build great stuff.

But build your audience first.
