A new report by the police watchdog has found that officers are politically correct and spend too much time investigating incidents which result in 'hurt feelings'.
Andy Cooke, the author of the report, reviewed 120 cases and found that 30 should not have been recorded or investigated at all.
In one case, police intervened after a man reported passengers on a bus giving him quote 'funny looks' due to his ethnicity and appearance.
Elsewhere, police intervened after a 10-year-old uttered a racist slur at school. This was, according to the report, incorrectly recorded as a racially aggravated public order crime.
