Labour MPs claimed thousands in energy support last year.

This money - which is funded by the taxpayer - is legitimately used by MPs to cover costs on their second home, used for the purposes of their job.

The chancellor Rachel Reeves claimed £1370 in 2023. That was just for her energy bills in her constituency property.

And after claiming that money, she announced a cut to the winter fuel allowance for millions of pensioners.

So, we're not saying that she's done anything wrong or broken any rules. But the optics are not good. She claims more than a thousand pounds in energy support but takes away payments away from pensioners.
