HOST KENNY MAYNE
It's something that's been passed
down through the generations, from
father to son and son to...son.
No, not the baldness gene. That comes from the mother's side. I'm talking about that rite of passage known as the driving lesson. Simply heed these nuggets of wisdom, like Robert here, and
your boy will be off to the races. The calm, seat belt wearing, at or below the speed limit, races. First things first, before you hit the pavement, make sure you're not being too overprotective. This will cut his visibility and limit his range of motion. Plus, it might make him nervous. And nervousness breeds expensive fender replacement. Before he turns that key, you'll wanna make sure your boy can operate under real world
conditions.
ROBERT
Autumn wind storm!
HOST KENNY MAYNE
The more you prepare him for the
unexpected, the better he'll perform in an emergency.
ROBERT
Deer crossing! Over turned ping-pong truck! Out of buckets, Robert THROWS HIMSELF against the windshield. Careless pedestrian!
HOST KENNY MAYNE
Physically driving the car is the easy part. But it's the rules of the road that trip up even the most skilled drivers. So be sure to prepare him for the written test.
SHAWN
Rail Road Crossing. No U-turn. No U-turn. Deer Crossing. Deer crossing.
HOST KENNY MAYNE
Way to keep him on his toes, Robert.
Okay, final tip. Be patient. To your kid, getting his license is a bigger deal than Christmas. They've been waiting for this day since they held their first toy race car.
ROBERT
Just breathe, buddy, and take your time.
Don't worry. It happened to me yesterday.
HOST KENNY MAYNE
Another proud tradition passed down from father to son. Forgetting to check your blind spots. Until next time, enjoy being a man who gets the tough things done.
