We are delighted to announce that #Dance4Uzbekistan Challenge initiated by Kamola Makhmudova, a Senior Banker from EBRD, and supported by British-Uzbek Society and a number of other organisations, is going very well! Thanks to the collective efforts we have already fundraised over £10,000 which will be distributed across the hospitals, and support vulnerable people who have been badly affected by COVID-19 in Uzbekistan. The charitable fund has been set up by Bilim Uzbek Cultural Centre (London) in support of COVID19 – Solidarity with Uzbekistan campaign.
We have already run two online classes on Zoom platform: Andijan Polka by Rashid Shadat, an actor and choreographer based in London, and Dilhiroj by Shirin Jalilova, Professor of State Academy of Choreography of Uzbekistan and the winner of numerous national and international dance competitions among professional dancers. We hosted about 140 people participating in these two classes. Our participants were based in UK, Australia, Italy, France, Finland, Spain, Georgia, Switzerland, Russia, Tunisia, Uzbekistan! Please join us on Zoom, on Sunday 26th April, 11 AM London time! Please contact [email protected] for any queries.
