If you’re a turkey enthusiast like me, it’s a great time of the year. We’re counting wild turkeys. July and August are the time when we look at this year’s production. Those poults that were put on the ground help us indicate nest success and the overall population of wild turkeys in the state.
If you see one, click on the link on this page (iowadnr.gov/turkey) and report that wild turkey to us.
