This was the first day I took out my new toy: The DJI Phantom (v1.1) quadcopter. This is my first drone/quadcopter, so maybe a bit pricey of an experiment, but is better than the low-end models and works well to carry a GoPro camera (Hero2, in this case). Based on the number of mishaps I've had (inevitable, probably. I just got them out of the way early, haha), it was a wise move not to get the newest high-end models which are 3x more expensive (over $1200; this one was $430, I believe)
Drone: DJI Phantom 1.1
Camera: GoPro Hero2
Music: Flight of the Bumblebee by Rimsky-Korsakov
Location: St. Helena (Napa Valley), California
Have to say... both the Phantom and the GoPro are even more durable than I'd hoped. In the flights that crashed, the GoPro was exposed (not in case, because I couldn't find the case -- so it was just electrical-taped on, facing in reverse)... neither the GoPro nor the Phantom were damaged, despite some pretty big tumbles (one was a 30 foot+ drop including air elevation and then down the rocky mountainside...)
