On Zmiinyi (Snake) Island, a military action is underway to defeat Russian soldiers and destroy their equipment.
Pivden Operational Command quote, "On Zmiinyi Island, a military operation is underway to defeat the enemy's soldiers and destroy their equipment. Another surface-to-air missile and artillery system, the Pantsir-S1, has been destroyed."
According to Kyrylo Budanov, chief of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' offensive operation on Zmiinyi Island is aimed at totally freeing the island from Russian invaders.
Budanov earlier said that the battle for Zmiinyi Island will be fought to the very end since possession of the island allows for the protection of the airspace above southern Ukraine.
After the Ukrainian Armed Forces bombed the Russian invaders' fortifications, satellite photos recorded the damage on Zmiinyi Island.
