The journey to starting my own business
At Horizon Consulting Partners waiting for my primary care doctor for my annual check up, where I started my career as a pharmaceutical sales representative, and years later made a full 180 degree change, and started my own company that will be 5 years this October.
The journey at first was scary, but I always believed in myself, regardless of what happened I won’t ever regret taking the leap to do my own thing, build a brand, and take control of my future.
Some people need that corporate structure, but for those who have the itch to be your own boss, take it from a person that did the same thing that you were thinking, and I took the leap.
First of all, you have to believe yourself, secondly, don’t flirt with the idea and take time to learn. Lastly, don’t wait for the perfect timing because it does not exist, just go ahead and take the leap after you get properly informed.
As a business owner today, I can tell you the years of experience over the past years in business have been eye-opening, and corporate America doesn’t train you for anything like this. My leadership skills have grown tremendously, even in corporate America where leadership skills are needed, When you put your money into something and not use somebody else’s resources it’s completely different.
