Hearing the phrases - grow some balls or they've got balls is quite common in our everyday language. People use these expressions without realizing that to a young kid, it may not make sense. If a young kid is hearing comments like grow some balls or they’ve got no balls or their balls probably haven’t dropped yet – it can make them feel quite self-conscious about their own balls. They may search online about average size of testicles? Or how to make your testicles grow? Or when do the testicles drop? In this video, I go over what to include in a Balls Talk with your child at some point during the middle school age because they will hear these expressions about the testicles and will wonder what it means.
