What is online grooming? When do we teach our kids about online grooming? Grooming is defined as the intention of building a relationship with a child in order to sexually abuse them. Online grooming continues to happen on every new social media platform yet there is not a consistent message amongst parents on when they must explain what Online Grooming is to their kids. This talk with your child about what is online grooming isn't a one-time talk. You will need to discuss the behaviors of sexual predators and how their words and actions are being used to manipulate. Secrets and gift-giving are two of the main tools that child abusers use in order to identify and determine whether a child has the potential to be groomed. This is consistently being seen across Discord and other social media platforms and young people online are falling victim to these grooming techniques. This video is designed to give you some background on online grooming and provide you with specific tools and scripts in order to explain this to your child.
