The majority of kids will ask What is Sex at some point during the intermediate years & when parents answer this question they will usually only explaining vaginal sex and potentially oral sex but the vast majority of parents will not talk about anal sex. There are new statistics showing that more women and vulva owners are reporting anal trauma due to engaging in anal sex without taking precautions and care of the anal tissue. The anus is more prone to tearing due to the lack of self-lubrication and many individuals engaging in anal sex are unaware of the importance of using additional lubrication. Explaining vaginal, oral, and anal sex as sexual activities that adults can choose to engage in are conversations that can start when children are in the intermediate age and continue throughout the middle and high school years.

'It's Time for the Sex Talk for Parents' is a channel designed for modern day parents who know that the sex talks aren't a one-time talk but continuous conversation starting in the toddler years. If you feel unprepared to have talks about sex with your child - subscribe and follow along as I bring you weekly videos designed to help you build your confidence in having the sex talks.

Your religious, cultural, and family values are an important aspect to the sex talks and I want you to include them in your talks with your child after providing medically-accurate and age-appropriate sex education first. Family values are an integral part to the sex talks with your child after you first explain the medically-accurate sexual health information in an age-appropriate way. Then, absolutely, you can include your family values.
