Some people go boxing or shout on a saturday at the referee during a soccer match to release the stress, anger and frustration that build up in the body. For me it is walking barefoot to let the energy flow. And for me is it to compose music about the things happen in my life. 10 years i went to Africa to visit charity organisations. My main intention was to understand the world better and to help others, but the more I went there, the more I thought I don’t understand the world. And I also noticed that, although I had the best intentions to help others, I mostly helped myself by going there… the more I went there I noticed they helped me….
I like to share a story with you in music and video about a boy called Johnny, which I met a few years ago at an orphanage in Namibia called Hope Village. Johnny arrived at the orphanage because he was found at a garbage dump. He couldn’t speak and was very wild when he arrived. He was hitting the other children in the orphanage at first, but after a few weeks of love and care he started to say sorry after he hit someone… and at some point he even was able to play with the other children. Johnny was a child for the first time in his life...
The story is tragic, but also beautiful in my opinion. It shows the rawness of life, but also the love we all carry in us.
The song Johnny you also will find on Spotify from the 9th of August 2024.
Thank you Orange Babies for supporting the children of this orphanage.
All the best, with love, Adrian
