Find out how to save an email as a file when using Outlook on the web connected to Exchange Online. This quick and easy guide contains all you need to know to start downloading your emails locally.
On-premises Exchange
If you want to export an email from OWA connected to a local Exchange Server, it is a bit trickier, since there's no save or export option. The easiest way to handle OWA that's based on an on-premises Exchange Server is that:
1. Start composing a new email
2. Drag and drop the email you want to save into the new email. It will become an attachment.
3. Right-click on this new attachment and click download.
4. The file might be downloaded without an extension. Add .eml to its name and here you go.
