In this video I’m going to explore if being an instacart shopper is a decent way to earn money. 😉
Recently I had an experience with DoorDash, where I did two runs of driving, (btw you can check this video here: • HOW MUCH CAN YOU MAKE WITH DOORDASH? ... . My experience with Instacart was in the Bay Area: in the South Bay and in San Francisco.
Before we start talking about the pros and cons, I wanna begin with the basics. There are two ways of working for Instacart:
Being a Full-service shopper means that you fully complete the shopping order for the customer, and as a result after paying for the shopping order, you deliver the order to the customer.
Being just a deliverer means that you pick up the order that someone has already completed, and you just drop it off at the location.
You also need to know that there’s a bunch of factors that Instacart takes into account:
Shopping time
Complexity of the order
Driving distance
Instacart paid me 19.1$ for an actual shopping experience, which is just about the minimum wage. I would say, it’s pretty decent! Also, I got these huge tips of $9.24. The bigger the tips are, the more its worth the delivery.
From the consumer side, I really like Instacart’s approach. They ask you, as a deliverer, to:
Weigh everything
Calculate the quantity
Enter all the details
If you use Instacart services, you actually understand what you’re paying for. But from the shopper side, it is a huge time-wasting experience 😰
However, I would recommend Instacart adding a grocery store map, because If I don’t go to one store every time, it can be a bit confusing. With my experience, I had to run from the produce section to the ice cream section, I had to figure out where the frozen section, the baking store section is. Uh, this was really tiring ☹️
I really liked the idea of Instacart, but to be honest, I may say that this way of earning money is such a waste of time 😞
Thanks for watching!
