It was important for Dr. Vo to find a career that had meaning and purpose. He selected the path to become a physician as it afforded the opportunity to give back to his community and derive fulfillment in the work.
After twelve years working in the emergency department, Dr. Vo changed to palliative and home care to cultivate more intimate and personal relationships with his patients. When visiting a patient’s home, he gains understanding of their day-to-day life therefore providing access to a deeper connection.
Dr. Vo’s philosophy is, “listen more, speak less.” He wants his patients to know that as a palliative care physician, he is there to support and understand how best to manage and treat their pain. Through thoughtful listening, a trusting doctor-patient relationship begins and evolves over time.
Dr. Vo received his medical degree from Kansas City University in Kansas City, Missouri, completed his emergency medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio and finished his fellowship in hospice and palliative care at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Outside of work, Dr. Vo enjoys spending time with his family and living an active outdoor lifestyle where you can find him hiking, running and biking.
