Thomas Mayo joined Laura Jayes on Sky News to discuss the launch of the No campaign, how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were extensively consulted and the majority agreed (and still do) that constitutional recognition should come through a Voice to Parliament.
There is a lot of goodwill and good intentions to solve the issues faced by Indigenous communities, but a failure to listen to Indigenous people living in these communities has resulted in policy failures by successive governments.
It's time that we listen to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people about their needs, give them the responsibility to come up with local solutions and work together for a better future for all Australians.
