Former Indigenous Affairs and Liberal Minister Ken Wyatt has rebuked claims that there is no detail about the upcoming referendum on constitutional recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through a Voice to Parliament.

Ken says that those who are looking for more detail about constitutional recognition and a Voice to Parliament should look to the Indigenous Voice Co-design Process Final Report to the Australian Government, which was presented twice to the Federal Cabinet made up of Liberal and National MPs at the time.

He argues that if his former colleagues are claiming there is a lack of detail, then they did not read the reports and are being willfully ignorant of the demands of the Indigenous community across Australia.

It's time for Australia to come together and listen to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people about how we can recognise them in our Constitution, in both a symbolic and practical manner.
