iPhone can't check for software update | What may be the reason and what to do | Unable to check for update in iPhone or iPad | Why can't I find software update on my iPhone | Why is software update not showing on my iPhone | Why is the iOS 16 update not showing up
In this video today we will see what to do if your iPhone is unable to check update for the latest version of iOS. Now if you have to check whether there is an update available or not you have to go to "settings". You have to go to "General" - "software update" and the iPhone will start to check for update and if there is update available you will see it like this one. Then you have to download and install the update. But if your iPhone is not able to do it then the first thing that you have to confirm is you have to confirm whether there is actually an update available or not. You can go to Apple's website and confirm if there is a new update for the iOS version. Then the next thing that you will do is you will restart your phone. Sometimes simply restarting the phone fixes many of the minor issues. The third thing that you have to do is you have to check whether there is Internet connection available in your iPhone or not. In order to check for the latest update your iPhone must connect to the Apple's server and for that one it requires internet. So what you do is open any website or YouTube videos to see if there is Wi-Fi in your device or not. If there is problem with Wi-Fi then you have to restart the router. The next thing that you have to do is you also have to check if the date and time in your iPhone is correct or not. If the date and time is incorrect then there won't be internet connection in your device. Go to "settings". Go to this option "General". Go to this option "Date and Time" and select this option "set automatically" so that the time in your iPhone will be set according to the SIM card that is present in your device. If you want to set the time manually then you can just disable this option and then you can change the date and time from here. In any case the time should be correct in your device. The next thing that you can do is go to "settings". Go to "General". Again scroll down and go to this option "Transfer or Reset iPhone". Select "Reset" and you have to select this option "Reset Network Settings" and once I enter the passcode you can see there is a message This will delete all network settings returning them to factory default. So all the settings for mobile data, for Wi-Fi for Bluetooth will be deleted and then you have to enter the password for your Wi-Fi again. Do this one and check if this will fix the issue. Now the other thing is sometimes there might be a problem with the Apple server due to which the iPhone is not able to check the update so what you do in that case is open any browser
and type here Apple server status. Go to this "system status"
and you can see all services are operating normally. If I tap on this plus icon it will show me all the Apple products and all of them are running properly. So make sure that all of the Apple services are operating normally. Now if none of this fixes the issue the last thing you have to do is you have to check whether your iPhone is eligible to receive the update. For that one what you can do is you can Google search and check which devices are compatible for the latest version of iOS software. So if you don't find your iPhone model eligible then in that case your iPhone can't search for the update. Thank you for watching this video.
