Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has apologised for leaving the D-day anniversary events early to take part in a TV interview.
He wrote a long apology on X ending with saying that TAKE TWITTER STILL "on reflection, it was a mistake not to stay in France longer – and I apologise."
Labour has accused the Prime Minister of a “dereliction of duty" after missing the high-profile event with world leaders on Omaha Beach.
The Prime Minister had paid tribute to veterans earlier in commemoration events , but returned to Britain before the ceremony was over.
