At the end of World War 2, there were many commandants of the concentration camps who were brought to trial. These were the men responsible for some of the worst sites of execution, torture and imprisonment of the whole conflict. They were responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people, and some of them were themselves executed for their crimes.
