During World War 2, there were execution squads who operated behind Wehrmacht lines and these were known as the Einsatzgruppe. The firing squads were responsible for millions of people's executions, but Hitler even planned to bring the death squads to Britain when he intended on invading. During the plans for Operation Sealion, the invasion of Britain an SS official was even appointed to lead the death squads in Britain.
