The 2000 Howitzer is equipped with a 152-millimeter L52 Howitzer gun. Operationally this weapon is supported by a fully automatic ammunition management system. The weapon has a maximum firing range of 30 kilometers with standard HE-FRAG projectiles and 40 kilometers with base bleed projectiles. With South African VLAP rocket projectiles, this weapon can even reach a firing range of 56 kilometers. .
