HORRIBLE ATTACK!! US Patriot Missile System in Ukraine Damaged by Russian Missile Attack!
Washington DC - The Patriot missile defense system made in the United States (US) in Ukraine is assessed as possibly damaged, but not destroyed, by a series of Russian missile attacks in and around the capital city of Kiev on Tuesday (16/5) morning local time.
As reported by CNN, Wednesday (17/5/2023), this was conveyed by a US official who declined to be named. The US official told CNN that Washington was still assessing how much damage was done to the Patriot missile defense system.
The assessment will determine whether the air defense system needs to be fully withdrawn or can be repaired on site by Ukrainian forces.
The Russian Ministry of Defense in a Telegram statement on Tuesday (16/5) local time claimed that "a high-precision attack by the Kinzhal hypersonic missile system on the city of Kiev hit a US-made Patriot anti-aircraft missile system".
