A small update regarding my custom C++ game engine.
I'm getting more and more confident as time (and development) goes on with regards to this engine.

While working on Celarias Map-Editor i was able to learn a lot of stuff as to what to do and what not to do (in terms of design.)
This editor does have a few usability improvements which make it nicer to use. (It also has the ability to undo previous actions. :P)
I also played around in Unreal engine and Unity to see how they implemented their navigation systems.

I was still debating if creating an own engine from scratch is really a good idea (instead of using an of the shelf engine for my next projects) but with the seamless development progress over the past days/weeks most of my doubts where slowly fading away.

It's by far from perfect but most of the engine functionality is already implemented. The last thing i have to work on is on soundintegration with OpenAL soft. (It already works, but is currently a bit limited. Even though it already supports streaming, stuff like 3D sound support is still lacking.)

So the general idea is create a simple game (in this case a rope swinging racing game) alongside the engine. The focus is more on engine development hence why the game lacks any kind of meaningfull graphical detail/fidelty. But once the engine is in a solid state i'll be able to focus more on the graphical side of things.

I already have a few ideas what i'll be working on after the release of Celaria and this particular game (shown in this video). Can't wait to push the graphical side of the engine a bit more. :)
