The BRUTAL Execution Of The American Soldiers Shot By The German Army
Following the D-Day landings, there were a huge amount of war crimes and executions committed by the German Army. But one group of American paratroopers had landed 18 miles away from their dropzone at the village of Graignes, and they would then dig in and fortify their positions. The Battle of Graignes erupted as the Germans brought in tanks to try and destroy the American defences, and after much heavy fighting the Americans who were depleted of their ammunition tried to flee. But the German Army would then take brutal action against those involved in the battle.
They would round up the wounded American soldiers and then then executed them near to a pond, and others were shot near to the village. But they did not stop there, as the Germans then rounded up French civilians who had helped and they then executed many of these. Women were also executed, and they then days later burned the village to the ground after looting it.
