In my last video on the Vampire V4, I briefly covered that it can run Atari ST software but I feel like I just touched on it so I'm doing this video to make amends. Here I'm looking into how far the core has got so far into a Vampire being able to run Atari ST software. Bear in mind that it is an Amiga based machine so development is behind on the Atari front but it is still impressive how far it has come.

In the beginning, the "regular" Amiga Core was used and EmuTOS took care of all specific Atari stuff. This resulted in a basic, but limited, Atari compatibility with some nice basic TOS and NVDI distro's. Around 2023/2024, they started creating a specific Apollo V4 Cores for Atari, bringing Atari hardware into the Core. With these Atari Cores, also comes the need for the special created EmuTOS fork from @shoggoth. The combination of these two will bring V4 to a higher level of true Atari compatibility.

To install the operating system on your CF card, you need some software that is able to copy an .img file to your card. Etcher is a well known and well used program for doing this:

Downloading the Intel Quartus software. Since doing this video I found the original software that I downloaded from the apollo-core.com website on the Intel website and came up with the same virus alert. If you follow the link below and download the file I used which is QuartusProgrammerSetup-23.1std.1.993-windows.exe it does the job fine. Remember to click on the additional software tab to find it
