Design Dk; Why different Test Vehicle Structures yield different Dk values: Design Dk is a term used to define the proper Dk (dielectric constant) to be used in circuit design. A very simple test vehicle has been used historically to define the Dk values, however if other test vehicles are used, the extracted Dk values may differ from the standard test vehicle. The standard test vehicle, microstrip transmission line circuits, are compared to several other RF structures in concept and showing the different Dk values.
