BMW M4 G82 Drift Cars show at Festival of Speed 2024: Single Turbo S58 w/ Anti-Lag Sound!
This video is about the two BMW M4 G82 drift cars of the Red Bull Driftbrothers in action during the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Johannes and Elias Hountondji are the two guys behind the Driftbrothers but for this occasion, thanks also to the mutual main sponsor, they invited the 2023 Drift Masters' champion Conor Shanahan to drive one of their M4s.
The first time I saw these two cars was in 2022 and they were still powered by the stock twin-turbocharged configuration even if the S58 straight-6 engine already had more horsepower than a standard M4 G82, plus the essential modifications to be able to drift.
2 years later the cars have both evolved while maintaining the same aesthetic appearance. Instead of being built on a road chassis like the 2022 ones, these M4s are based on the GT4 version. The S58 engine has been fitted with a single turbocharger plus an external wastegate fairly improving the sound over the old setup.
