An iconic tower is proposed to rise at the South Road Properties in Cebu City, which is eyed to become the tallest structure in the Philippines.

5K venture and Development Corp presented to Mayor Mike Rama this week at his office a 490-meter tower design, with 155-floors, which will be constructed at the South Road Properties or SRP.

This proposed tower will include a 15-story hotel and a three-story luxury complex on a three-hectare lot.

Designed by Bong Deiparine, the project will be under a Private-Public Partnership (PPP) scheme, which will be at no cost to the City Government.

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama welcomed the idea, but said that this would still go through a certain process first, and should have a certain modicum that has to be complied with.

No information yet where in SRP is the proposed location of the tower, but one thing for sure, it will not be constructed within the joint-venture project of the City with Filinvest Land, Inc.
