The Davao City Coastal Road has been opened to the public last January 28, but still at limited time.
It is now open from 5:00am to 8:00am, and then 3:00pm to 7:00pm everyday. People can now enjoy walking, biking, playing, jogging, exercising and skating.
The 19.8 Billion Davao City Coastal Road project is an 18.5 kilometer road, with two bridges, that stretches from Bago Aplaya to R. Castillo of Agdao; with designated bikers and joggers’ lane on the side of the Talomo Bay. 🏗️🛣️🇵🇭
Construction of this project started in 2017; and is projected to be finished in 2022.
The coastal road project weaves through a stretch of coastal villages resided by informal settlers. Thus, the project is being constructed on reclaimed beach to avoid demolition of the settlers’ homes.
The Bago Aplaya section of the coastal road has already been opened to the public; paved with asphalt and an adjacent joggers’ lane with road tiles, painted in red.
