It's time to talk about when to plant your rooted cuttings. I've been getting this question a lot lately and gardeners want to know the best time to up pot their rooted cuttings so here are some plant propagation transplanting tips for you.
It's winter now and the plants are dormant so it naturally feels like a great time but we're still a couple months off from when I would normally start separating my rooted cuttings and potting them up individually. If you do this too soon in the winter, you could get rotted roots. Late winter or early spring is the absolute best time to separate rooted cuttings and pot them up. Wait until the buds begin to swell and the danger of frost has past. Once the sap is flowing and the plants are just about to break out for the spring, go for it!
