This One Trick Got My Hydrangea Cuttings Rooting Like Crazy! Bottom Heat to the Rescue
Well, this one took awhile. I started propagating these hydrangea around the middle of last August. For awhile they weren't rooting too well but I hung in there and finally got the roots I was looking for.
Bottom heat is definitely a game changer in the world of plant propagation and if you don't have a heat mat yet I highly recommend getting a good one just in case you need it for those hard to root varieties or semi-hardwood cuttings. In fact, we even used this heating mat last winter for hardwood cuttings of figs.
