How to unlock iPhone from carrier
I will show you step by step how to unlock your iPhone from your current carrier.
In this video I unlocked an iPhone 8 Plus (A1897) locked to AT&T.

When you insert a SIM card to a Locked iPhone this is the message you will get:
"SIM Not Supported"
The SIM card that you currently have installed in this iPhone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by activation server, this is not a hardware issue with the iPhone. Please insert another SiM from a supported carrier or request that this iPhone be unlocked by your carrier. Please contact Apple for more information.
How to know if your iPhone is locked to a carrier?
You need to go to:
Settings - General - About
And look for:
Carrier Lock: SIM locked
This device might be restricted to the original carrier and/or have certain capabilities limited.
Contact your provider for more info.
If your iPhone is Unlocked, it should see this:
Carrier Lock: No SIM restrictions
