Backing Track Of The Week: 4 Beat It
Many people asked me about my backing tracks so I wanted to share them with you, let’s hope there aren’t any copyright issues so I can keep doing it.
Mini Lesson:
The original tuning of Beat It is Eb, so if you have all the strings in your guitar tuned half step down you can jam in many guitarists favorite key: E minor, over which E pentatonic and E blues scales sound great. Eddie sometimes adds the C# instead of C which gives a cool Dorian sound to the solo, be careful not to use it too much over the C major cord, as it’s a strong dissonance.
If your guitar is in Standard Tuning just play everything one fret below, so the Key would obviously still be Eb minor, only now you will fret the “real” notes.
