Last Window - "Distant Memory" (Guitar version)

Last Window: The Secret of Cape West is the sequel to Hotel Dusk, a film noir visual novel mystery game for the Nintendo DS. The atmospheric music is some of the best in VGM history, and this is my guitar cover remix of "Distant Memory".

This version of the song was created with two main guitar tracks (rhythm and melody) along with some synth chords on a few bars, and a basic hi-hat pattern to keep rhythm in the background. Four tracks total. The original OST version is perfect, but I love guitar and love this song, I had to make this!

As I shot this intentionally with a dark "film noir" theme, I was unable to use my Canon M50, the only lens I have would not pick up enough light for detail, but thankfully my faithful Samsung Galaxy S9+ was up to the task, and did a serviceable job. Of course, the footage is not very sharp or detailed, but for filming a video game cover for fun, I didn't want to go buy a new lens. Some color adjustments to create "mood" in Premiere Pro, and we have a gritty crime-fighting guitar video!

It started out as just a guitar video, but I figured I needed some footage from the game to help move along the slower, somber song, now it's basically like a teaser trailer for the game haha.. I highly recommend this game for anyone who likes Detective/film noir style games or novels!
