Forgive me for how cheesy this video is - just a bit of fun recording an atmospheric song!
Recently, I've been looking for great Metroidvania games to play, and I came across Timespinner. It has an odd story, but the gameplay looked great. I was absorbed with how fun it is, and beat it within days. The soundtrack was wonderful, a very atmospheric, somber vibe at times - leading to getting the idea in my head to turn this song into a guitar piece..
This track features two main guitar parts (each doubled) and I've added a small shaker beat to keep somewhat in time (this was not in the original track). I utilized Neural DSP's Archetype: Nolly with a mix of multiple amps, one super clean and one slightly dirtier with more reverb.
I don't even know if the "costume" can be attributed to something in the game, although there are demons and cult-like figures overall, I just thought it fit the mood and my plan to have the figures appearing in and out of the screen, like a ghost. I want to get more comfortable with video and audio editing, so little projects like this help a lot.
