Give It Away (RHCP) using 12 basses - Bass Cover
Well... today I decided to use my currently (and forever) 12 basses, in one take shot! I hope you enjoy it, and below a little history about each bass:
0:00 - Modulus Funk Unlimited 4 "Punk Flea Slane Castle bass": Year 2001, pickup is Legacy Lane Poor, preamp Aguilar OBP-1 18v, strings are new Elixir 45-105 (14077). Volume 100%, bass 70% and treble 20%. I bought this bass here in Brasil in 2013 from a guy called "MB". Originally it was black with white pearl pickguard, Bartolini MM4CBC pickup, Bartolini NTBTM-9v preamp... NT Guitars did the custom job and here we are! This bass have a Hipshot D-tuner.
0:33 - Yamaha BB734a: Year 2022, this bass is completely original, no customizations on this bass. Strings are new Elixir 45-105 (14077). Volume 100%, both pickups, active mode, Bass 70%, Mid 60%, Treble 20%. Bought this bass in 2023 directly imported from Bass Central Florida.
01:05 - Squier Jazz Bass Vintage Modified 77: Year 2017, this bass have Customy pickups. Strings are new Ernie Ball Coated Strings 45-105 (3833). Neck volume 80%, Bridge volume 100%, Tone 50%. Bought this bass in 2023 here in Brasil from a guy called "JP".
01:25 - Music Man Stingray 5: Year 1998, this bass is completely original, no customizations on this bass. Strings are Elixir 45-125 (14077 +15425). Volume 100%, Bass 80%, Mid 70%, Treble 50%. Bought this bass in 2021 here in Brasil from a guy called "JM".
02:07 - Fender Jazz Bass American Vintage Reissue 62: Year 1999. Strings are very old GHS Flea Boomers 3045MF 45-105. Volume both pickups 100%. Tone neck 30%, tone bridge 20%. Bought this bass in 2014 here in Brasil from a guy called "VS". In 2015, NT Guitars changed the fingerboard (the original was in really bad conditions, the truss rod not working...), so, we installed one new fingerboard with "Jacarandá da Bahia" wood...and, dude! WHAT A SOUND!
02:29 - NT Precision Bass 57: Year 2014, this is a custom handmade bass by NT Guitars. Strings are old Rotosound RS66LDN 45-105 warm. Volume 100%, tone 50%. You can also check the full review of this amazing bass here: • NT Precision Bass 57 - Review Completo
02:59 - Spector Euro 4LX: Year 2005, this bass have the EMG PJx pickups and the EMG BTS 9v preamp. Strings are new Elixir 45-105 (14077). Volume 100%, both pickups. Bass 60% and treble 40%. Bought this bass in 2023 here in Brasil from a guy called "FB". The bass was not originally black... it was "flamed maple natural finish". NT Guitars did the job and painted it in black for me. Totally FLEA!
03:21 - Music Man Stingray 4: Year 1994, this bass have the Flea bridge. Strings are old Ernie Ball Coated Strings 45-105 (3833). Volume 100%, Bass 80%, Mid 70%, Treble 50%. Bought this bass in 2014 from a guy called "FB" here in Brasil. This bass was originally "green teal" colour...and NT Guitars painted it on black for me (another Totally Flea!). This bass came to me with a Hipshot D tuner installed...and I loved it!
03:35 - Fleabass Street Model: Year 2011, this bass have the EMG35DC active pickup in 9v. Strings are new Elixir 45-105 (14077). Volume 100%, tone 50%. Bought this bass from Ebay, from a girl called "CR" in 2021.
03:52 - Modulus Funk Unlimited 4 "Flea's 2-tone Sunburst Stadium Arcadium tour bass": Year 2011, the body of this bass was custom handmade by Kian Guitars, using Tauari wood. The neck is from a Modulus Vertex Bass. This bass have the Legacy Lane Poor pickup, Aguilar OBP-1 18v preamp. Strings are new Elixir 45-105 (14077). Volume 100%, Bass 70%, Treble 20%. Bought the Vertex bass on Reverb.com from a guy called "PC" in 2023.
04:06 - Kian/Fender Flea Active JB: Year 2022, this bass was totally custom handmade by Kian Guitars, using Tauari wood on body and neck, and Marfim wood on fingerboard. This bass is a tribute to the gorgeous Flea Active JB bourbon brown. This bass have the Seymour Duncan Custom Shop Flea pickup, and Aguilar OBP-1 18v preamp. Strings are new Elixir 45-105 (14077). Volume 100%, Bass 50%, Treble 20%.

05:11 - All my basses.
And I'm still waiting for my Kian Vertex Fretlss bass. Well, when I took off the Modulus Vertex neck and send to Kian make the Modulus 2-tone sunburst body, I immediately asked him to make a Fretless neck for the Vertex body. And he is doing it. Probably in a few months, my 13th bass will be with me, the Kian Vertex Fretless, painted in Candy Apple Red, with all original electronics (Bartolini BB4C pickup, passive with only Tone and Volume).
