Camp Wright was a Civil War training camp located along the banks of the Allegheny River in Oakmont. Over 4,000 volunteers from Pennsylvania trained at the camp before going off to fight in the Civil War. There are no photographs of the camp, however by using old newspaper accounts, books, old maps and letters written by soldiers at the camp, artist Tom McCrady has brought the forgotten camp back to life through an ink sketch of the camp the attendees.
