With 160 floors and 2,909 steps, taking the stairs all the way to the top of Dubai’s tallest tower, the Burj Khalifa, is no easy feat. For this challenge, as a fundraiser for the Gulf for Good charity, runners around the world climbed the equivalent of the Burj Khalifa in staircases across various buildings. What would it take to beat her record? What sort of injuries might you face along the way? And how would you warm up effectively? Many athletes consider the sport of tower running - ascending man-made structures, like running up a skyscraper’s internal staircase - a fantastic exercise to build fitness, strength and cardiovascular health. It’s also not as high impact as running, meaning less potential injuries. But what might happen if you slipped and fell down? We’ll explore just how difficult this challenge would be on your body.
