I think this photography battle shows the power of a good location, good model and good light.
The beginner photographer her photos were mostly out of focus, not composed well etc... but because of all the other components of a good photo mentioned above, a couple still turned out well.
I prefer paying attention to location, light, model, pose,... instead of expensive gear
