Lizard Island Fishing Trip, Mackay to Lizard Is Part I
http://www.reefari.com Over a year in the planning and we were on our way to Lizard Island, this video shows the travel and some tips on the way to Lizard Island, Allow about 15 hours from Mackay towing a boat, we stayed at the Lakeland Hotel, good pub, feed and only about 1 hours from Cooktown, we did the last run into Cooktown, got the last minute supplies, filled up the fuel, bait and Ice.
Unfortunately the boat was heavy and the 50 Nautical mile run to Cooktown turned into a long 8 hour cruise at only 7 knots or so. The only upside was we didn't use too much fuel going up at about 60 litres for the one way voyage. Pretty good as you are fairly remote and do have to watch your fuel.
We had a good forecast and all went well on the voyage, More videos of this amazing trip and can't recommend enough how awesome Lizard island is.
