In this video, one of HexaHealth's surgeons, Dr. Debojyoti Sarkar, describes Phimosis. Some adults and children who aren't circumcised suffer from #phimosis, a condition of the penis. Usually, circumcision is described as surgery for phimosis. He says, in circumcision, the foreskin of the glans (head) of the penis is removed. It's one of the most common surgical procedures for men. There are several benefits to circumcision, including a lower risk of diseases like urinary tract infections.

Older boys and men get circumcised as well. The circumcised penis usually heals within a week. It is a relatively simple daycare procedure that adults can do under local anesthesia. While in children, if they cooperate, it is completed under general anesthesia and best undertaken as soon as possible if required.

This procedure can be completed by either conventional method, laser technology, or stapler technique, depending on the patient's comfort. It is a safe procedure with less chance of infection and bleeding. It is also adopted as a ritualistic part of certain cultures. Moreover, there are close to no complications in this surgery. But it is imperative for the individual to maintain hygiene in the area, don’t soil the dressing with urine, and in rare cases, if you notice any bleeding, please contact your doctor immediately.

The few Benefits of Circumcision include:
Lowered risk of urinary tract infections.
Decreased rates of sexually transmitted infections.
To protect yourself against penile cancer.
No issues related to foreskin

Recovery from circumcision takes about eight to 10 days. While the penis heals, it may look swollen and red. You may see a yellow film at the tip.
