Why Was The Concorde Retired?

The Concorde was a supersonic passenger airplane, which scheduled flights began on 21 January 1976, on routes between London and Bahrain, and Paris and Rio de Janeiro. The Concorde made its last commercial flight on 24 October 2003, but why was it retired? The retirement of Concord was due to a number of factors. The supersonic aircraft was noisy and extremely expensive to use. In 2000, an Air France Concorde had an engine failure, resulting to a crash, which killed all 109 people on board and 4 people on the ground. It's believed that this event accelerated the retirement of the Concorde in 2003.
