Stairway To Heaven - Led Zeppelin - Guitar Solo + TAB - Lesson/Playthrough
Once again attempting this one! Every time I revisit solos, I always learn more about them both in terms of technique/musicality and in the way they sound. As musicians, it's crucial that we pay attention not just to the notes and techniques used in songs, but also to little things like touch, rhythm, and dynamics, which I think are sometimes overlooked, but which are just as important. "Stairway" is a great example of this concept!
In addition, I've always thought of this solo as a masterclass in playing up and down the entire neck because it uses all 5 positions of the pentatonic scale as well as a few notes from the full minor scale sprinkled in here and there. This is why I think that this is a great first solo to learn for guitarists who are beginning to develop their soloing skills. Unfortunately, this song has been played to death everywhere. Nevertheless, this solo never fails to amaze me, no matter how many times I hear it.
TAB as usual is not 100% original as I did reference other tabs on the Internet.
P.S. - This will probably be my last upload for this year. I'll be back in January with new content. I'm also planning to gradually start getting out original material and hopefully release a short album/E.P. by the end of next year. This is, of course, not for certain, but I'll try and keep you guys updated.
