Unveiling Vulnerabilities: NIKTO Web Scan Explained in 3 Minutes | Cybersecurity Tutorial!
This is a quick tutorial for those who know their way round linux and are starting out in Ethical Hacking. Nikto is a web server scanning tool, for locating vulnerabilities in a website or application.
Web Server scanning is essential for security. Nikto allows pentesters and ethical hackers to examine a web server and find potential problems and vulnerabilities.
This could include: Server misconfigurations, default files and programs etc.
00:00 - Nikto Scanning of Web Server.
00:19 - Start up Metasploitable 2 in Virtualbox.
01:20 - Use Nikto to scan your Metasploitable Web Server.
01:50 - Review the results of your web scan.
There is more to this of course, this is just a brief overview of the process. I will be releasing more videos at a later day on how to install Virtualbox, Kali Linux VMs. Nikto is preinstalled with Kali.
