Custom Filters in Tableau
In certain situations, we want to control how the action filters interact with the other sheets we have on the screen. Using the quick filter method, a filter is created which applies to all sheets inside the dashboard automatically. By extension, it also uses all dimensions in the source sheet to apply an action filter on all other sheets as well.
But what if you didn't want it to filter on all available dimensions? What if you only wanted it to filter on a single dimension? In that case, you can control which dimensions are used in the filter which is what I'll be showing you today.
