Decoding Vowels & Consonants with Houses and Neighbors
Learn about Vowels and Consonants using simple manipulative's to create a story with characters for the student to understand the process of decoding, Reading Words. Vowels we call houses, and we use the red Monopoly Game Hotel Pieces for Vowels or you can draw a house. Use Lego Mini-Figures for Consonants a neighbor or you can draw a neighbor. It all creates a story to learn about all the sounds Vowels can change into long and short sounds. It creates a picture and character for Consonants to turn into neighbors. We teach about Closed and Open Syllables in this important video which will help a students remember the Science Reading and Spelling for your student. This type of learning is great for the student who loves to learn with stories, adventure, logic, characters, good at spatial awareness or who just needs to learn about spatial awareness, who loves imagination and needs it to be Multi-Sensory. All this is important to learn to Read and Spell for early literacy
