Stream restoration is the process of improving ecosystem health through the reconstruction of the floodplain and stream itself. Planting species and ensuring riparian vegetation is healthy is an important aspect of restoration. Rocky Branch is an older restored urban stream completed on North Carolina State’s campus and provides a unique opportunity to examine long-term plant communities post-restoration. Join Lauren Willhite in looking at her vegetation assessment data to see what native and invasive species are present and what we should do moving forward to better conserve plants on restoration sites!
