The University of Oklahoma welcomed Dr. Dimitri Kusnezov, Under Secretary of DHS Science and Technology Directorate, as well as other federal and agency partners, for a workshop on using extreme weather data to better understand trends and projections with an emphasis on ramifications to public safety and security. Attendees gained an improved understanding of extreme weather risks from the nation’s top scientists to inform improved risk management decisions. Dr. Kusnezov discussed the importance of innovative science and technology to our national security in this interview at the National Weather Center at OU.
